TEDx is an international community that organizes TED-style events anywhere and everywhere -- celebrating locally-driven ideas and elevating them to a global stage.

TEDxHong Kong’s 2026 theme is, “Adjust Focus: Look Again,” with a multidisciplinary lineup of eight speakers spanning design, business, technology, health, science, entertainment and humanities. The half-day  simultaneous Cantonese and English translated event will take place on 20 June 2026, at  Strategic Partner, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP)’s  iconic “Golden Egg” venue, Charles K. Kao Auditorium.

This year’s theme invites audiences to make a subtle but powerful shift in perspective – just enough to see what has been there all along.

Across disciplines and lived experiences, each speaker will challenge assumptions and  reexamine the systems, beliefs and everyday realities often taken for granted. Together, the eight talks will explore how even the smallest adjustment in focus can bring hidden patterns,  overlooked tensions and new possibilities into view.

Rooted in Hong Kong’s layered identity, the experience reflects a city where perspectives  collide, overlap and evolve; and the visual language of the event mirrors the boldness of life in Hong Kong.

“TEDxHong Kong is putting ideas at the centre. This year’s programme is designed to reveal what’s already around us; ideas, tensions and possibilities hiding in plain sight. Through each talk and every encounter beyond the stage, we’re inviting people to look again and see differently,” says License Holder & Creative Director, Daniella Lopez.

“With this new  chapter, we’re creating a platform for Hong Kong insight and expertise to be seen on the global stage and where provocative ideas don’t just stay in the room but force us to confront our own belief systems and actions. And we are especially excited for guests to experience the ideas to action pipeline with the Live Talks followed by the curated Taste of TEDx dinner experiences afterwards.”

A tile motif, inspired by the checkered floors of Dai Pai Dong eateries, grounds the TEDx Hong Kong experience in everyday life here.
The visual language of the event employs orange: the glow of streetlights and density of urban life; blue: the rhythm of the harbour; and green: the hillsides and tramlines.

Beyond the Stage: Taste of TEDx

Seeing differently is only the beginning. Taste of TEDx (Community Dinners) invites attendees into intimate, themed gatherings across unexpected corners of the city, creating space for honest conversation, reflection, and connection. Bringing together speakers, community partners, and guests, each dinner is a curated encounter designed to deepen ideas, bridge perspectives, and explore what emerges when they are experienced face-to-face.

Taste of TEDx is only accessible to those that attend the Live Talks.

“We especially want to reinforce Hong Kong’s position as a global hub of innovative thinking.

Hong Kong is original, and has always been the home of great ideas. We want our home audience to own that, and through the TEDx platform – for global audiences to recognise that and benefit from the talks,” says Executive Producer, Sonia Wong, “when we say: welcome to Hong Kong, we mean it, we have so much to offer, and we are here to share!”

The event is organised with three key pillars at its core: community, sustainability and local collaboration. So, the sustenance of the day is provided by Nodi Coffee, a homegrown Hong Kong brand and Taste of TEDx (community dinners) will be arranged at locally-owned venues around our city. From providing shuttles for guests to environmentally-friendly coffee mugs, we have prioritized a sustainable event.
