In this episode, Nicole and guest, Soundari Mukherjea of Soundbytes 11 talk about Intergenerational workplaces: what they are, how to navigate them and how to make them work successfully for business. Nicole and Soundari discuss their respective experiences with employees at Being Neighbourly and corporate clients.
Soundari has an optimistic outlook on harnessing the best each generation, sharing skills and combining them for better business. She provides examples of companies hiring Gen Z ‘Shadow Boards’ to give input on product development and how one such board saved a company the trouble and funds they were planning to spend on developing an app.
When pressed on how to make things work in the workplace, Soundari advises that an open mind is needed and good communication skills. She warns against negative stereotyping and providing a feeling of purpose that all generations can relate to and be motivated by.
An informative conversation that all business employers and employees stand to gain from.
