How long have you lived where you live?

I have lived in Hong Kong my whole life. I was born and raised here, but studied abroad in London for university.

Can you see yourself anywhere else?

Honestly, no. Hong Kong is known for its fascinating blend of eastern and western culture, its iconic skyline, a world-class financial hub, its very efficient transportation system and more. Hong Kong offers a very clean and safe environment, with extremely low crime rates. Overall, I can see myself here in the future. I studied in London but can’t see myself living anywhere else but Hong Kong.

What’s so great about your home/neighbourhood?

Sai Ying Pun is a great location. There is a great balance of convenience and local culture.
There is a very interesting mix of old and new Hong Kong, there are some historical buildings in the area allowing us citizens to learn more about Hong Kong’s background. Sai Ying Pun is just a 20-30 minute walk from the bustling district, “Central”. The ambience is overall amazing, and at night it is very peaceful and quiet. There are many restaurants and shops nearby, providing convenience to citizens.

Best little known gems?

Art Lane in Sai Ying Pun has great little cafes and street art to enjoy and photograph. One can enjoy the street murals while taking a stroll down the lane.

Best places to eat breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner?

There are many places to eat nearby. High Street is full of wonderful restaurants. Firstly,
everything is walkable and just a few blocks away from each other. Secondly, there is a mix of old and new styles of restaurants! And lastly, there are no tourist traps! Just authentic spots loved by locals! Personally, I feel that Katsumoto is the best place to eat on High Street, offering great Japanese food with a nice vibe.

Best places to drink coffee/find a drink?

For drinks, there are many places to choose from on High Street and a lot of them have great happy hour options.

Best other hangouts?

Whenever I have family or friends in town, I always take them to Ping Pong, a gin bar located on Second Street. Ping Pong is known for its bustling ambience and affordable prices. They specialize in craft gin cocktails, with over 100+ gin varieties. It is even labelled as one of Asia’s 50 Best Bars!
