Pryanka Punjabi was born in Las Palmas, Spain, and has been living in Hong Kong since 2005. She runs a wellness products business, specializing in organic skincare, vitamin gummies and health teas; and is a proud parent of two children, aged 14 and 11, which she says has spiked her time management and multi-tasking skills.
I’ve been living in Hong Kong for over 20 years now, and it truly feels like home.
Hong Kong has a vibrant energy, cultural diversity and beautiful natural surroundings that makes it hard to imagine living anywhere else, but, nevertheless, I’m open to other options in the future.
I live in Ho Man Tin, which offers a wonderful mix of community and convenience. It’s peaceful, yet close to everything, from parks to markets.
John Choy Cafe 2015 in To Kwa Wan is praised as a charming, old-school local coffee shop with a casual and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for coffee enthusiasts looking for less commercialized, authentic spots in Kowloon. It offers an impressive selection of around 40 different coffee beans from regions like South America, Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe, served in traditional styles—black or with milk and sugar—at very reasonable prices
I love visiting Greyhound and Oola for brunch. LPM is also one of my favourite restaurants to go to.
Some of my favourite spots include Shek O Beach, known for its beautiful sandy shore and laid-back vibe, ideal for beachside picnics and water sports. Tai Long Wan in Sai Kung is another gem, famous for its pristine white sand and clear waters. Cheung Sha Beach on Lantau Island is perfect to spend the day with family and friends.
People often say Hong Kong is just a fast-paced, crowded city where everyone is always rushing and life feels impersonal. But living in my neighbourhood has shown me how this is not always true. Here, I’ve found a real sense of community—people smile, greet each other and look out for one another, even in the busiest moments. It’s a place where neighbours become friends, and small acts of kindness happen every day.
