Have Your Say – Mrs. To

Share

Mrs. To is in her 80s and is a grandmother of a 10-year old boy. She lives in the same Midlevels complex as her son and his family and has always lived in Hong Kong.

How long have you lived where you live?

Twelve years, but 17 years in this neighbourhood.

Can you see yourself anywhere else?

To be honest, I’ve never even thought about moving to another place or  district.

What’s so great about your home/neighbourhood?

The best thing is that it’s quiet and the people are nice. If someone says hi to me, I’ll say hi back. Also, my family lives in the same block.

Best little known gems?

There’s nowhere that’s not known, but I like going to the park, the Botanical Gardens on Albany Road.

Best places to eat breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner?

If the evening, I like to go to Wan Gei, which is nearby. I don’t go often, but if I do, I’ll take the buffet. I usually like to eat at home, fresh milk and bread, because it’s healthier. On Mother’s Day, I went for lunch at Yau Che Hon in Yuen Long. I love going there. Even if my son needs to go to work, I’ll go myself.

Best places to drink coffee/find a drink?

Lei Bo Hin in Admiralty. I’m old so I don’t get out very much to many places.

What’s true/not true about your neighbourhood?

It’s friendly around here as long as you are friendly. If you greet people, they will be nice back to you.
