Have Your Say – Karshy Sakhrani

Karshy Sakhrani is an interior designer and furniture specialist, who’s done up a slew of homes in Ho Man Tin, where she lives. She values the presence of community: helpful people and friendly neighbours.

How long have you lived where you live?

I’ve been in Ho Man Tin for 19 years, and it’s really grown on me.

Can you see yourself anywhere else?

I’m pretty happy here for now. Hong Kong’s got its own vibe. But, maybe one day, I would love to explore a new place.

What’s so great about your home/neighbourhood?

It has a nice mix of community. Family and friends make it cozy and it’s not too far away from town.

Best little known gems?

There’s a nice park for walking and kids can play ball or use scooters.

Best places to eat breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner?

They are mostly near town, which is 7-8 mins by car. You have lots of great options like the Rosewood or TST East, and, obviously, a certain private club called the Kowloon Cricket Club (KCC)!

Best places to drink coffee/find a drink?

There is the Bayfare Social/Tapas Bar and the previously mentioned KCC.

What’s true/not true about your neighbourhood?

People are helpful. My neighbours are great. There is a chilled, yet busy side to where I live. Also, it’s very convenient. For example,  you have a good few supermarkets, hospitals, pet groomers, laundromats, etcetera, which makes it very easy to live here!
