Charity & NGO membership is a free, lifetime membership on one or more Being Neighbourly community Facebook group.

Any registered charity or NGO can become a Charity & NGO member.

You need to be a registered charity or NGO to join.

Membership increases your visibility and chance of advancing your cause. You increase your visibility through the listings you receive on one (or more) of the Being Neighbourly Facebook community groups (currently serving the whole of Hong Kong Island via three groups: Central & Western; Wan Chai and Eastern; and Southern).

No. We offer affordable marketing, copywriting and design services, but any additional paid-for services are completely optional.

There are plenty of ways. You may wish to seek out consultation beyond our introductory chat to discuss ways you can uplift your charity or NGO through Being Neighbourly opportunities. These range from paid Featured articles, sponsoring the Paper Bag Challenge or other giveaways and, when appropriate, sponsoring Being Neighbourly events such as our annual art exhibition, or buying ad space in Being Neighbourly publications. We also offer custom publishing solutions: scripting social media posts, website text, newsletters and book projects. We design simple but effective logos, business cards, flyers, brochures, newsletters and social media posts. Our Charity & NGO members enjoy discounted rates, that are, frankly, amazing!

Visibility is built on activity and the more you post MID-WEEK PROMOS both on the Facebook groups, sponsor the Paper Bag Challenge and other giveaways and take advantage of our editorial coverage, the more successful you will be. If you still feel that being a Charity & NGO member isn’t working for you, and would like your listing to be removed, we can do so. In this unfortunate situation, you are invited to remain on the community Facebook group you were a Charity & NGO Member of.

If you change your charity/NGO name or area of activity but still have remaining time before your membership expires, we are happy to discuss removing your existing listing and replacing it with your new name and logo on the community Facebook group(s) and Being Neighbourly website. You will need to supply us with a new description and contact details.

If you close your charity or NGO, we will remove your listing from the relevant Facebook community group(s) and website.

We will be sorry to see you go!

There are no requirements for you to refer other Charity & NGOs (or Individuals or businesses) to us, but we would love you to do so!

To date, the situation of a charity/NGO member being asked to relinquish their membership has never occurred. Grounds for asking a charity or NGO to do this would include: the discovery of false information regarding the registration of your organisation; distasteful posts on the Facebook community group(s) that do not align with the tone of Being Neighbourly or disrespectful behaviour towards other Individuals, Business or Charity & NGO members.
