Business membership means a paid 6-month or annual membership of any Being Neighbourly community Facebook group(s).

Any sole proprietorship or Limited company can become a Business member.

You need to be a registered business and pay a nominal 6-month or annual fee. You also need to submit your business logo, a short business description and your social media links to us.

Membership increases your potential of both B2C and B2B transactions. You increase your visibility through the listings you receive on one (or more) of the Being Neighbourly Facebook community groups (currently serving the whole of Hong Kong Island via three groups: Central & Western; Wan Chai and Eastern; and Southern). You may post MID-WEEK PROMO posts on the Facebook community group(s) and you gain access to a Being Neighbourly Business Members WhatsApp group, where you may also promote your services on Wednesdays. Being Neighbourly provides opportunities for our Business members to mingle and encourages our businesses to get to know each others businesses, like and follow each other on social media and offer peer support, wherever possible.

No. We aim to create a fair marketplace where everyone benefits. We believe our joining fee and services are reasonably-priced and are a good investment in your company. Any additional paid-for services are completely optional.

There are plenty of ways. Businesses may wish to seek out consultation beyond the first free discussion on ways you can uplift your business and opportunities within that Being Neighbourly can provide. These opportunities range from paid Featured Articles, sponsoring the Paper Bag Challenge or other giveaways and, where appropriate, sponsoring Being Neighbourly events such as our annual art exhibition or buying ad space in Being Neighbourly publications. We also offer custom publishing solutions: scripting social media posts, website text, newsletters and book projects. We also design simple but effective logos, business cards, flyers, brochures, newsletters and social media posts. Our business members enjoy discounted rates, that are, frankly, amazing!

Business is built on relationships and the more you post MID-WEEK PROMOS both on the Facebook groups and WhatsApp B2B group, sponsor the Paper Bag Challenge and other giveaways and take advantage of our editorial coverage, the more successful you will be. If you still feel that being a Business Member isn’t working for you, you simply need not renew your membership. In this unfortunate situation, you are invited to remain on the community Facebook group you were a Business Member of.

If you change your business name or activity but still have remaining time before your membership expires, we are happy to discuss removing your existing business listing and replacing it with your new business name and logo on the community Facebook group(s) and Being Neighbourly website. You will need to supply us with a new business description and contact details for us to do this. An announcement will also be made on the B2B WhatsApp group, inviting you to re-introduce yourself.

If you close your business, we will remove your listing from the relevant Facebook community group(s), website and WhatsApp group. We will be sorry to see you go!

There are no requirements for you to refer other businesses (or Individual or Charity & NGO members) to us, but we would love you to do so!

To date, the situation of a Business Member being asked to relinquish their membership has never occurred. Grounds for asking a Business to do this would include: the discovery of false information regarding the registration of your organisation; repeated flaunting of the rules regarding MID-WEEK PROMOS on the Facebook community group(s) or B2B WhatsApp group, or disrespectful behaviour towards other Individuals, Business or Charity & NGO members.
